Update on kittie who sent me to ER!

Well I must say I am pleasently surprised with how things have been the past few days. The day after he attacked me I picked up the diffuser. The day after the attack, Serj was acting like a sweetheart. Well it has continued! He is still trying to claw at me randomly, BUT he has been a lot more loving towards me and not nearly as aggressive. I did not let Serj out until yesterday bc I wanted the chance for him to see the stray less. So far things are going great. I am making sure I am standing up straight and saying no firmly but not yelling and not petting after something naughty happens for at least 10 minutes (should i wait longer?). Things are going a lot better so far! I really hope this continues! I am still going to take him to the vet just in case there is something medically wrong with him. Thank you soooo much to everyone for all their support! I will post under this comment after I take him to the vet and get the results.

That's great to hear. Yes, 10 minutes should be enough; by that point, cats will no longer be associating the bad behavior with whatever's going on now.

Oh YAY! I am so very happy to hear that you're having success with these methods. Heh, it gave me some 'goosebumps' when I read this.

I have not been home that much this weekend, but Serj still seems to be a lot calmer. It is hard not to go back to my old habits, I have messed up a little on not following my new rules. It is a work in progress, but we can do this. I plan on going to the vet on Wed. I believe my oldest cat is going blind so she will be coming too! I thank everyone for their support!!! Updates will continue!
