afternoon all

I am looking at purchasing a digital video camera but its all a little overwhelming and alot of the lingo is going over my head.

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light? What is a good video camera? what are must haves or must not haves in a camera.

I have been looking at this website http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.co...egory142_1.htm
and dont want to spend more than $1000AU (obviously the prices on this page are in Aus dollars)

Thanks

I have a Canon that uses the DV, and I love it! They're simple to use, and I prefer the DV over the DVD...unless technology has changed, the DVDs only hold 30 minutes while the DVs hold 2 hours.

But then again, I'm a Canon girl!

Does this mean we're going to get Jazzy movies?

Yes, purchasing is a good thing!
DVs are digital videos...they look like little palm-sized vcr tapes. Mini DVDs are just that...tiny DVDs. As far as the transfer, I've only done it once, but I don't remember it being very difficult. When you're at the store, make sure to ask the techies if you need to purchase an additional cord to transfer the movies.
