The sedative WILL work. We used it a couple of years ago for one of our cats and by the time we left for the vet he was very sleepy and he was almost comatose by the time my dh handed him over. If Zorro likes cuddles, I would hold him after giving the pill as he will become unsteady on his feet.

I'm so sorry you are going through this today. However, once the initial wave of grief is past, I think you will be able to feel relief and confidence that you did the very best thing for your little love.

My heart breaks for you. I know how very hard this decision is to make. Zorro loves you for it though, because he will soon be healthy and whole again.

and to you both and I pray for Zorro to have a swift and peaceful crossing to the bridge.

I'm saying prayers for both of you that his journey is quiet. He knows you love him and that will comfort him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Zorro.
Bless you for having the courage to make this decision. It's done out of love and Zorro knows that.

Well he's gone. He was a little sleepy when we got there. The vet injected him in the abdomen, and he was gone in a matter of seconds. I held him tight throughout the whole thing. This is the hardest day of my life. I just can't stop crying. There's a big empty hole in my heart now. I know this is what he wanted, but its hard knowing that I'll never see him again. He gave me a bunch of nose bunts right before we got there, as if to say, "Its ok. I'll be fine."
RIP my little zo monster

I'm so sorry that you've lost him. Zorro, there are a lot of TCS kitties at the other end of the Rainbow Bridge who will make you welcome.

That's so sad. My kitties and I wish you condolences for your loss. I know you made the right decision though. It will get easier with time.

RIP Zorro - play happily at the bridge and watch over those that you have left behind. They miss you terribly.

Out of deepest respect I will now close this thread. Zorro's tribute in the bridge can be found here
