So earlier today, in this thread, I posted that my cats don't groom each other, and that I had sort of expected Penny to attempt to groom Ferris, as she has raised at least one litter and was a nurturing momcat (as far as I understand.)
And then I came home from work, and while I was sitting in the bathroom, with the door open, of course, I watched as Penny walked up to Ferris, who was lying just outside the doorway watching me, and then she proceeded to lick him on the back of the head a bunch of times! He just crouched there with his eyes half closed, enjoying it.
I was all:
I'm ridiculously happy, because that is THE first time I have EVER witnessed that, and I'm taking it to mean that Penny has completely accepted Ferris as her buddy!
