So earlier today, in this thread, I posted that my cats don't groom each other, and that I had sort of expected Penny to attempt to groom Ferris, as she has raised at least one litter and was a nurturing momcat (as far as I understand.)

And then I came home from work, and while I was sitting in the bathroom, with the door open, of course, I watched as Penny walked up to Ferris, who was lying just outside the doorway watching me, and then she proceeded to lick him on the back of the head a bunch of times! He just crouched there with his eyes half closed, enjoying it.

I was all:

I'm ridiculously happy, because that is THE first time I have EVER witnessed that, and I'm taking it to mean that Penny has completely accepted Ferris as her buddy!

awww that is so sweet! My two play well together, but I have yet to see them cuddle up together or groom each other.

I'm so happy for Ferris.

Really, over the moon - he is such a needy lovebug, and he wanted that kind of love from Ginger SO badly, but she is just having none of that.

Honestly, as much as I wanted a Bengal someday, I adopted Penny for him, to be his playmate, so that he would leave Ginger alone, so she would be happy. Which is ironic, since I adopted Ferris to keep Ginger company because she was lonely as an only cat. Fickle girl...

Anyhoo, I'm just thrilled - not that you can tell. I hope to one day find them all snuggled up together - oh, I just can't stand it!

Aww, isn't that the sweetest thing? It just warms your heart to see your babies getting along.

That is great news! I am so happy for everyone involved! Don't forget the pictures when they finally start snuggling!

Oh, we've got the head chewing already - that happens during the wrestling matches.

Where whiskers abound.
Aww, so happy for you and your kitties.
They probably knew that you posted about them. I wish my two females would groom each other!

Somehow, whenever I post something about my cats, like today, they do strange things. Today, I was in shock, the older one, Mittens, went into Cassy's territory. They each stay in their own 'territory' rooms and one will not go into the other or vice versa.
