I got a kitten about a month ago, who is now just under 4 months old. He has been a great kitten and everything but he has this habit of suckling on my blanket! I thought at first that maybe it was because my dog had slept on my bed previously and that perhaps he liked the smell of my dog? But I washed my blanket to see if he still does it, and he does!!

Does anyone else have experience with this? I just want to make sure he is okay doing this, or if I should stop him!

I could understand him suckling if it was on another cat or something, but my blanket?!

My kitty suck my blankets, my nightie, she was a bottle fed baby, sometimes she tries to suck on my shirt, when I'm still wearing it, The vet said it is normal in bottle fed babies or kittens given away to young

I also heard that they should stop that when permanent teeth come in. My bottle fed babies do this everywhere, especially in my hands !

Many kittens if separated too soon (under 10-12 weeks old) from mom can exhibit this behavior - hopefully he will grow out of it.

Blossom was a bottle baby. She doesn't suck anything but she likes to lick our hands & feet.
