I have a dsh who has picked up a nasty habit of shedding. . . its making me crazy, especially considering she is all white. . . I have tried using a slicker brush, and it does an okay job but most of the hair comes off on me sitting with her and not the brush, and the next day she is loosing hair everywhere again. . . Is there anything other than a slicker brush that I can use. . . I am about ready to pull my own hair out!

Thanks for the help!

Invest in a good comb. And if you want to spend more money, get the furminator. Both will work much better then a slicker brush.

I use a flea comb - its got super narrow teeth and even works well to get out hair from our lab - which is a big-time shedder!

I was thinking the same thing about the 'eats'!

I noticed my cats shed less since I switched to quality food. In the past they were eating food that belonged in a garbage pit. Shame on me for trying to save a couple cents on their food, I ended up at the vets anyway and ended up spending $$$ because of the food I USED to feed them. I will never forgive myself.

The summers have been long, hot and dry and I was dreading it, but, I was so SURPRISED with this summer, there was hardly any shedding.

I hardly found BLACK cat hair all over the place this year.

Lots of people like McDonalds too, but is it healthy!?

This is what is in your cats food:

Ingredients:
Ground yellow corn, corn gluten meal, poultry by-product meal, meat and bone meal, corn germ meal, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), ocean fish meal, soybean meal, brewers dried yeast, phosphoric acid, animal digest, potassium chloride, tetra sodium pyrophosphate, salt, choline chloride, tuna meal, salmon meal, added color (Yellow 6, Red 40, Yellow 5), taurine, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, niacin, manganese sulfate, calcium carbonate, Vitamin A supplement, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate (Vitamin B-1), copper sulfate, riboflavin supplement (Vitamin B-2), Vitamin B-12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride (Vitamin B-6), folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, calcium iodate, biotin, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), sodium selenite.

Guaranteed Analysis %:
Crude Protein (Min) 31
Moisture (Max) 12
Crude Fat (Min) 11.5
Crude Fiber (Max) 4.5

You may want to look here to compare foods, you would be surprised, the first few ingredients is the key to a cat's better health. Cats don't eat corn in the wild.

I see what yuo guys mean about the food. I think it is that that is doing it. It has been since i switched her that we have had this problem. I dont like the way her fur looks . . .

Looks like I will be making a trip to the pet store to get her good food!

Thanks all!
