My husband obsesses on a daily basis. Some things worry me, but others I simply let go. One such item that has slipped off my radar was socks. He is down right obsessed with having enough clean socks to make it though a week. Upon watching Ken Burn's The War, I got some insight on why he has such a huge focus on them.

Two words: Trench Foot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immersion_foot

After reading about them it's making me slightly leery about MY socks.

Time to go to Target.

No kidding!

He's such a funny man, but my goodness he's got me worried about my feet now.

Seriously, don't worry too much about it. My dad got Jugnle Rot when he was in the Marines in the late 1960s. Yes, he still has it. We only had one shower in the house where I grew up and none of us girls got it.
So as long as you have fairly decent cleaning habits, you'll be fine.

I know you're in Ohio, but if you ever make it to the coast, have him spend time in the sea.
Seriously, Dad said the only time it completely went away for a long period of time was when he went fishing on the shore of the Outer Banks.

Yeah, my ex had jungle rot from his stint in the Marines.
He still has it, I never got it, our roomate never got it.

Of course, I completely shun socks if I can

Ewy eww!! God my feet were like that after working at the shelter. I had those shoes on from 7 in the morning to 7 at night, and was walking all day! Even worse if there was a hole or something and i had to keep stepping on the wet mats!! Eugh or coming home on the hottest days

But i'm a hippy when i'm home, i love being barefoot! (well..i shouldn't be when i'm sick..naughty!)

That's still scary
