My little black cat Gina has had a UTI, which is gone now, and crystals, which are still in her urine. I have switched her to Nutro Max (I had a free sample of their indoor formula also and she ate it all, she loves it) also I am giving her cranberry extract, she likes that too. When we went for a check, the vet gave me anti-inflammatory pills to give her. Do you think this will help? She is licking down there but using the litter box as usual. Is it worth the ordeal of making her take the pills?

I would say, if your vet gave them to you for your kitty, she should probably be taking them, yes.

Anti inflamotorys ( like cosequin) have been reported to line the bladder wall making it more unfreindly to bacteria ... i am sure someone can communicate this who has experience

When Twinkie had crystals, he was given Metacam for a couple days to make it more comfortable for him to urinate. That's only for short-term use, though, as I understand there are some health risks with it.

It is metacam. I gave it to her tonight and will see if that crusty stuff goes away. (I know I'm gross but that's how I knew she had it in the first place.) Hopefully the dietary changes will get rid of the crystals for good.
