Ginger has a vet appointment in a week, her annual. So I brought the carriers out of hiding this morning.

Now, normally they are NOT hidden, they are out in plain sight at all times. But I put them in the front hallway after our move this summer to prevent further trauma to the kits - they wound up spending close to 8 hours in the the carriers the day of the move and were very stressed.

I've been trying to unpack and get organized, and this is a smaller apartment than the last one was, so I hadn't yet found places for each of the carriers to be hidden "in plain view" until today.

As soon as Ferris caught sight of his carrier he FLED from me, throwing horrified glances back at me over his shoulder as if the devil was chasing him.

I told him he has no reason to be afraid, that we aren't going anywhere today. (I am NOT telling him that if I can catch him that day, he's coming with me, too. He needs a blood test to watch his borderline anemia.) But he sees the carrier, he knows it is just a matter of WHEN.

I've tossed treats around the house, but he's terrified that I'm going to snag him and cage him, poor boy. Earlier this morning he was demanding cuddles and was getting scritches on my lap.

SIGH...guess I'll get the Feliway running again. I learned a while ago to buy refills for the diffusers in bulk.
