Do I have to ask my vet to do a blood test when I take my cats in for their annual exams? She gives them their boosters, checks their teeth and asks questions, weighs them but I don't think she's ever taken blood...

Some vets will recommend blood tests when the cat reaches a certain age, but typically if you want bloodwork done, you may have to request it. How old are the kitties? Are there specific concerns you have that you want blood work done?

If they are 6 or older I would suggest it ... if younger I likely would do a basic panel...

Note in many areas vaccine protocal is changeing to every three yrs

Bea is fine. It's more of a precaution really but I strated thinking about having it done because the baby kittens drink a lot of water. More than I've ever really seen cats drink before.

they have good appetites and seem to be healthy, vet says they're coming along fine I just wanted to make sure...
