2 days ago my momma stray who adopted me about a month ago had 9 kittens!!!! Is she going to be able to nurse all 9 enough to keep their nutrition up? I bought some kitten formula, but am not sure if I should use it or not. I don't want to loose any of my kittens. I don't want to take any of them away from her either to feed them. Should I just feed all of them a little formula a few times a day and let them nurse the rest of the time? Any advise would be great since I have never had baby kitties before and definatly not 9. Thanks for reading.

Wow 9!!! Give us pictures!!!

As for bottle feeding, that may not be necessary, but keep a close eye out. Mummy may just need to do two feeding sessions, just make sure she doesn't get fed up with all the work. Some one on here ended up with 9 kittens, although I think one may have passed away (maybe stillborn). I think thats right anyway. I'm sure they'll be around soon for some advice!!!

Good luck and congratulations

I have fostered a couple of momma cats that nursed eight kittens and they did fine. It was just a lot of work for mom. If you have a good momma cat she should do ok. Just be sure to keep a close eye on them so you can step in if you need to.

I tried to insert a pic, but it just pulled the front page up of the forum.
