That's wonderful! Unlike almost all persons convicted of animal cruelty, maybe Vick and his cohorts will actually do time! Hopefully this will set an example for prosecuting all dogfighting cases.

I still think that someone who can do that to dogs can easily do the same to a person! He should be in jail for 10-100 years, IMO!!
Well done. I am still anxiously awaiting his sentencing for the federal charges.

Speaking of athletes who don't understand the opportunity they've been given... one of our football players got arrested last night two blocks south of me for trying to pay an undercover 20$ for... sexual favors.

I mean, you're getting millions of dollars, in Vick's case, or free college, in Antonio's case, to play a game you probably like playing anyway, and to go and blow it like that is inconcievable to me.

On top of what Michael Vick did being completely inconceivable in the first place.

Well, Z, you can take the boy out of the upbringing, but you can't always take the upbringing out of the boy. I know that doesn't make sense but it was an attempt!! I wanted to use the word `scumbag' instead of `upbringing' but that would have made even less sense

I saw this last night when I was googling for the latest Vick news. It made my day.

True- he's only been in school for a week. He's a freshman, though 21, so that is a bit confusing.

Anyway, you found this case on google, or this thread?

lol, So sometimes you just dont want to deal with looking for it the old fashion way. ok in a way i was just kidding. But really, i am one of those who thanks that should be legal.

cops could be spending there time, looking for drugs, illegal aliens, or giving speeding tickets.

As for vick and his friends, i hope they spend a long time in jail

Or dog fighters like Michael Vick. There's been an increase in animal cruelty cases since that scumbag's crimes became public. At least people are taking them seriously for the most part.

Anyway, I have mixed feelings about prostitution, I'm not a huge fan of the meth-addled ones that hang out across the street (there's a reason they were doing a sting within sight of me) but a lot of the more serious issues could be solved by making it legal. Kinda like weed. But that's another thread...

I think Michael Vick has been google-bombed though. One of the 'suggested' search items is "Michael Vick Herpes" now. I know there was that case a couple years ago where he gave a woman herpes, but I'm sensing some design behind that.

I found the case on Google - every week or so I check in to see if there's any updates. I got quite obsessed with his case - to my detriment. It made me terribly depressed.

As for legalising prostitution, I'm all for it. Not because of any personal desires or reasons, but I think that regulating the industry would give prostitutes many more rights and hopefully protect them from many of the evils of their line of work.

Max has a saying `There will always be lawyers and prostitutes'. And there will. It's the world's oldest profession. At least give them some rights and protections.

My Daddy told us two girls that we could be anything when we grew up, except for two things: a lawyer or a hooker, because it's pretty much the same job.

Anywhoo....back to the original topic....

I'd had to say that "scumbag" is definitely fitting, and he's really showing his true colors now:

Vick Fails Marijuana Test

I mean, seriously...it takes a special kind of stupid to smoke dope when you're out on bond...
IMO, he deserves everything they can throw at him. I don't personally care what plants other people smoke, but when you're already in that much trouble it should be priority #1 to be on your best, perfect behavior.

Did you guys see the "Vick Divide" on ESPN about how Vick was treated unfairly by the public because of his race, etc? What a bunch of hooha! )

They also argued he "just wanted to help his family become independent and successful"...... Hello! He could have helped his cousin by funding his education or some other means.

They also said that the Falcons need to take responsibility and apologize for being an "enabler" for paying him the salary they did.

The excuses were laughable....

Sometimes I just want to scream "He plead guilty!" at people. How is an admittedly guilty man being treated unfairly? Nothing short of drowning him in a bag the way he did to those poor dogs would really be "fair" (not that I'm advocating it, but as fair goes...)

I think he should be chained up outside to a buried car axle, just exactly how they kept those dogs, for his in-house arrest. THEN they can throw him in a little cage!

I heard someone on the radio suggest a punishment for Michael Vick. They said "The judge should make him play all season without pads and helmet and let everyone beat on him and see how he likes it"
The quote went something like that. I think he should do the jail time and then play without pads and helmet while he is on probation!

I have to interject here with a bit of comedy gold from Maxey. I was sitting on the lounge and he was in the kitchen, and making some delicious food. He asked me if I wanted any and I jumped up, and he said `Oh ho! Look at her go. Quicker to decide than a Michael Vick jury!'.

Well, it made ME laugh
