Hi, I have 4 yard cats, for mousers, I live on 5 acres, I got a new cat a month ago, and one of my other cats refuses to get along with her, I have now 3 girls and 1 boy, all fixed and between the age of 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 years old. The other cats took to the new cat within a week. But Dix does not want anything to do with her, & she will go and hide, for 2 days last week, I was so worried. Dix was my 2nd cat I got, and she was 4 months old when I got her, 2 years ago. So she's been around other cats. Any suggestions would be great and appreciated alot.

You need to reintroduce them. Seperate them for a few days. Some cats might not ever get along.

Thank you for your idea. I have given Dix her space, and will soon try to get them to at least be within 10 feet of each other. When I have tried that recently, Dix growls & hisses, & Kallie is not doing anything to her. ?? And now Dix will even hiss at the other cats that's been here, as if, they have taken the new cat's side, if "they" think like that, I do not know? Thanks again!

HI, I am still having my cat problem, maybe it's going to take time, I do not believe that Dix is afraid of Kallie "cause when we put them in the house, in the same room together, yesterday, they layed only a few feet from each other, Dix just looked at Kallie & only hissed at her when she tried to move closer. I think Dix just does not want anyting to do with Kallie, but I just want her to tolarate her being here. I have petted Kallie in front of Dix, then I went over and petted Dix & let her smell my hand, & she did not do anything. Dix is just being stubborn & anti-social. They are outside cats, so with our weather starting to get cooler, I'm hoping that they'll start to get along to stay together to keep warm. Dix has a string personality, of leave me along, I will do my on thing, & Kallie is alittle more layed back, she also strong-minded. So I guess we will wish for the best, neither one has attacked each other that I know of. Dix will run, in the yard, if Kallie starts to come in her direction. Kallie has been here 6 weeks, and really seems to love it & enjoys the other female cat & the male cat. (All are fixed) If anyone has anymore suggestion I would be deeply appreciative. Thank you.
