dry nipples?

My pregnant persian is getting her milk in however her nipples are very dry. This is the first time I have run into a problem like this and I thought that before I contacted a vet to get their opinion I would ask on here to see if any one else had any suggestions.

Try a little bit of vegetable oil on the dry nipples. Sometimes it happens. That will also soften them up for nursing.
