My friend and I have been caring for a small colony of cats in the trailer park where he lives, his mom owns the trailer they live in. He has been very ill lately, and I truly believe that the cats were one of the few things keeping him going. The maintence men put down a trap, (the same ones that wanted to try to flush baby Scooter down the toilet) and trapped some of them, but none of the ones he felt really close to. I have been springing the trap so he does not have to lie and say he did it. He had a particular fave tuxedo that I sprung, he said it reminded him of a cat he had as a child.
We made the decision that we would bring Blackie over and let him stay in my yard until the heat was off. He was brough over, we put him down, and he began to frolic in my yard, which is pretty big and nice. He went toward the shed, and just vanished. We looked away for a second, and the cat was gone. There is nowhere that he could have gotten to in the length of time since we looked away from him, we checked thoroughly. This was 2 weeks ago. We have looked all over, and followed the routes for him to get back where he came from. Something eats the food I put down, but that could be anything. If not for him just vanishing, I would think he just ran for the woods, but there was no time, even for a fast cat.
I worry about my friend. I am afraid he will have a relapse, or stop being serious about his treatment.
