I just got through using the furminator on Cosmo, so much came off, and the thought came to mind - how many hairs are on a cat? It's not infinite, but it must be a huge number!

Isn't there something about that in the Bible?

Only God knows Sorta like "how many hairs does a human have on their head?" One will never know.

However, on a sphynx there is none

Indie and Ember lose a lot of fur despite being brushed daily

I can't stop humming the 'how many bugs in a box' song now because of the title. Really though, I have no idea! Too many, perhaps?

I know that there are enough in Twig alone to make about 4 more of him!

So let's see, one Twig, making 4 of him times 5 cats doing the same, would be a booty load of hair!

The only thing I can add to the replies is:

Fact:

British Shorthairs have the most fur per square inch then any other domestic cat!

My best guess is a gazillion!! There is so much of Layla's hair stuck to our couch and sheets alone you'd wonder how she isn't bald!!

It seems infinte to me! LOL I brush and brush and brush and even right after I get a handful of hair when I pet them. There just doesn't seem to be an end to it.
