DH was out at his moms working this morning and he calls me asking me about some kittens they had found, and when I say kittens, I mean kittens! Umbilical cord still there and all. I guess the story goes is they found them yesterday but their dog chased mama cat away....and today when DH found them they were still there, but all lying on the ground, cold!

I wonder if mama had been back to feed them?
I went to vet and got the KMR and a bottle to feed them...but they wouldnt eat!!
I think mama may come back for them. We put them in a shoe box with a towel and placed it with the kittens in a dog house(one by the spot they were found) in hopes mama does come back!! I feel helpless, because they wouldnt eat. And they were just crying and crying.
I know they had to be hungry because by the time I had got there, they had them in the house at least an hour....and dont they have to eat every couple hours??

Can you take them in and bottle feed them? Honestly, if it were me, I wouldn't wait to see if momma cat comes back.
First order of business is getting them warmed up, cold kittens won't usually want to eat. Here's a great link to help you out: http://www.kitten-rescue.com/

Poor little things!!! Hope they warm up, then they may want some food. They can probably only focus on one thing at a time!

Were they found far from the house? I would take them in and get your MIL to keep an eye out for the mummy cat because she might not come back. Good Luck. And keep trying the KMR. They'll haev it once they're warm

Oh those poor sweet babies.
I agree that bringing them inside would be the best thing for them.
Sending lots of vibes and Prayers that they'll eat once they get warmed up and that Mommy cat returns safe and sound.

Bless you for doing your best to help them.

If they are cold, they won't eat, and of course, then they will die. If you want to save these kittens, then you will have to bring them inside where they are safe, get them warm and then bottle feed them. The Kitten Rescue site referenced by bnwalker2 is a great place to start reading and learning how to help these little ones.

Can't wait to see pictures later. Any sign of Mum cat yet?
No mama yet
I really am wondering if she was in process of giving birth when the dog spooked her....the way they found them, just sounds like it. The after birth was still attached to two of 'em!!
