But didn't you say she was in your neighborhood? Did the lady with the nursing mother come to your house to pick her up? If you don't hear from her soon, I'd be contacting the shelters close to you and alerting them that someone may be claiming to be a rescuer, when they aren't! I sure hope you hear something soon! You must be a nervous wreck!

Taterbug is right, you should call the local shelters and make them aware of what's happened.
Something about this just does not sound right.

Yes, she picked the kitten up. She said she lived nearby but was not comfortable having a stranger come to her house because her husband was out of town.

I am a nervous wreck! I'm so worried and speculating about what might be going on! I just want the poor baby back safe and sound... I don't know what to do! I just wish I had not given her to anyone now...I am scared for her and what will happen to her and I can't figure out how to get her back I'm so mad at myself for giving her to that person...

Don't beat yourself up about it. How long has it been now? Have you gone back to the original website? If you know her name do you think you could look her up for her address or real phone number or are you only on first name terms? I really hope the baby is alright. Keep us posted

I have gone to the website but can't find her on it... I've tried looking her up in the phonebook and also in online people searches/phonebooks but have not been able to find her address. The only other thing I can think of is if I pay one of those websites that says they will get people's addresses for a fee if you give a name or phone number...but I don't know what to do next if I do get her address!

Hey I just wanted to give you guys an update... I never heard from the woman so I am now filing court papers to take her to court for the return of the kitten to me, and also police reports for this as it is technically theft...

I hope you find your little sweetie. I am a bit confused, how can your file court papers if you don't know where to find the women?

A friend of mine has access to one of those paid "people search" sites.

Unfortunately now the woman is claiming to not know anything about the situation. After 3 weeks of nothing I got an email from her claiming she has no idea what I'm talking about, which is ridiculous as I have proof that she contacted me through that same email address in the past. I don't know what she thinks she's pulling but if she wants to lie to the police and the judge we'll see how far she gets.

One thing that is worrying me is that maybe she took the baby from you and tried to 'sell' it on craigs list? Thats a popular scam these days, take people's free kittens (though yours was for feeding purposes) and then 'sell' them for a fake adoption fee, saying they have their shots and are fixed etc.

Have you checked your local craigs list and have you posted on the rescue website you found her on? The people on the rescue website should know that she's a scam artist before they give her more animals.

Yes I have posted about her warning people not to deal with her. I have been checking Craigslist as well because I was afraid she might try to sell her...

Yeah definitely check Craigslist and your local newspaper online classified ads. Good luck with fighting back for your little kitty.
