Punky is a cord chewer.

So, I coat them all in Bitter Apple. He doesn't care.

So, I cover them in tin foil. He pulls off the tin foil. So I tape it on, so he pulls it off.

So, he's happily chewing away tonight when ZAP! He gets a shock. And continues to chew happily on the cord that just fried him!!
(Yes, he'll be vet checked, no visible burns in his mouth & apparently no brains to fry
)

I'm running out of ideas. I've covered the cords he has access to tonight with butter, then sprinkeld Cayenne Pepper on them. I don't know what else to do & I have to be going to bed. He hasn't chewed those cords, shows no desire to do so. He likes to chew the really expensive ones for the computer & the ones you can no longer get for the vintage copy machine....

Ideas? This has to stop, for his safety, my sanity, & my pocketbook!!

I don't know if this would managed to keep him off the cords but a lot of businesses use these 'cord tubes' and they are like flexible tubes cut down one side so they can gather the cords up and slide the tube on them...

Does that make sense? I wish I could think of the name!

It will put a buffer between the cat and the cords. Maybe that will help?

I found another solution that is more asthetically pleasing than the example given on that site IMO http://www.improvementscatalog.com/h...cover-kit.html

Here's another site with some possible solutions http://cableorganizer.com/cableties-...able-wraps.htm
Hopefully the OP will find something that works. I'm so happy none of mine are cord chewers!

Since the usual methods didn't work on that darn cat (
) then you may need to get heavy duty plastic covers for the cords to slide in.

I know someone has mentioned it in here - hopefully they will get the name of those containers

Or you can always have the vet remove all the teeth.....

I've been looking all over for those stupid cord protectors locally & am not having any luck!! I've got Fleet & Farm locally, that's it. But, I am bound & determined to find them somewhere....

And GK, I actually threatened him with Twitch, being toothless!
(Obivously he listened
)
