A lady in my rescue sent me this. It is true at first I used the words get rid of alot but after spending a few weekends with her I was scared to say it. Now I feel the same way she does. Pass this on!
For the last 3 years I've been on a personal campaign to stop people from using the phrase "get rid of" when they are speaking of animals. Whenever someone uses that phrase to me I look them squarely in the eyes and gently say "please don't say that, we get rid of trash and animals are not trash". If they say "well I didn't mean it that way" or "you know what I mean" I respond with "I'm on a personal mission to irradicate that phrase when speaking of animals they are not trash and we all need to stop speaking of them as if they are, please say rehome or place." At first my volunteers would duck to the back as if they expected a confrontation, now I hear them gently say "please don't say that, we get rid of trash, animals are not trash."
WOULD YOU ALL CONSIDER JOINING US IN THIS CAMPAIGN. JUST QUIETLY SAY "PLEASE DON'T SAY THAT, ANIMALS ARE NOT TRASH".
