Well, I spent a good 30 minutes browsing the amazing Exotics thread (beautiful!) and was totally shocked at the sight of the bobcats. We had always joked that my parent's little baby boy Porthos looked like a bobcat. I didn't realize how much until I saw Amber's pictures.

Is it....possible? I mean...the resemblance is way scarier than I thought!

Here are some comparison shots:

I didn't get permission from Amber to post pics of her babies but here is a random bobcat I found by google at a zoo. A REAL Bobcat:

I mean...I normally wouldn't entertain fanciful ideas like this because seriously he's a petite cat, I would think he would have been bigger. D: And I thought bobcat hybrids weren't possible....

But here are the similarities:
1) ticked and spotted coat (as opposed to typical tabby stripes or marbling)
2) darker markings ONLY on his legs & tail & face
3) tufted black ears
4) black tail tip
5) stocky build
6) high prey drive

Here are the differences:
1) small
2) long tail
3) short legs & long body

Haha, it's so silly but he really does look like a bobcat! Anyways, whether he is or not he's still my favorite of my Mom's kitties. What do you think?

I love the fur on his ears.

Haha, he's such a punkin' too!
What a rascal, I wish I could kidnap him but my mother would protest. He looooooves to snuggle under the covers and stretch out full length. He has an obsession with water too, what a funny guy! Even now that I move out of the house my room is still his favorite place to be....

I miss him so much! <3 Wish he wasn't an hour away.

Oh wow! He is just gorgeous!! I love his markings and the teeny ear tuffs!
His markings are similar to a bobcat's, but I doubt there is bobcat in him. Maybe he is part main-coon or another breed of domestic cat that has those kind of markings and the ear tuffs.

Psst - Amber is the bobcat, John is their daddy.

There's a little bit of wild cat in all our babies, though.

ROFL oh my goodness, my apologies to John then! Haha, I just remembered his screen name. ::hides::

He's a cutie-pie though! I love him SO much. And I'm sure you're right, I think all cats have a touch of the wild in them.
I should get some video of him being his sassy self sometime...

I'll say for now that he's a pure 100% Kitty Cutie, lol! Thank you all for looking!
