Read the officer's reports - what would you do if a person was fighting you, kicking and punching? Talk to them? or use the taser???
I am glad that there are investigations into these kinds of incidents - using a taser to immobilize someone is a dangerous power to have. I have heard that pimps use them on their "employees".
Until I saw photos of taser injuries and talked to people who have been tasered, I did not realize how powerful a taser is. My cousin, who was a Marine MP, then a sheriff's deputy who was injured on the job and trained to be a private investigator, was tasered in his car when he was having a stroke and the deputy ordered him out of the car or he would be tasered. Of course, my cousin could not comply, and he was tasered; the neurologists have said that he incurred additional damage due to the taserings.
In one case that I saw, witnesses complained that the arrestee was tasered in the back AFTER he was tasered in the shoulder and cheek and was on the ground imobilized.
The taser is NOT to be taken lightly
