My cat had babies on June 26th. But because we are all cat lovers and no one seems to understand why I wanted so badly to capture the birth - I wanted to share a couple pics with you. You can all relate. I got some really neat shots - even if they are kinda gross. She had 4 - we adopted 1 of them and I have no intention (don't tell my husband that) of getting rid of the other 3.

This is the coolest picture ever. My aunt - who thinks it is gross - told me to frame it. LOL

Same one as above - half-way cleaned

Another cool one.

These are the littles one now. The grey one is female (i think) and the other are male. Momma & daddy are still here and their uncle (heehee) as well. Everyone gets along so well. I am surprised how well Milo (not related to the kittens) is with them. He will clean them, come running if he hears one of them meowing. It is really cute.

This is the one that was adopted. He was the fuzziest with the others being short haired. He looked most like daddy.

This is my baby girl. She is still nameless. Nothing has come to me yet. This is the one I was originally keeping because I have a calico, black and white & orange. I just needed gray. Any suggestions on a name?

This little guy is Ollie. He just recovered from a broken leg a little while ago. My husband said we had to keep him instead of the gray because we put $150 into him. LOL

And this is the other little guy. I had someone adopting him and was in contact for 2 weeks and then the day she was to get him ... nothing. He is nameless as well. Any suggestions?

And these are our older cats.

This is Charlie (the daddy). I got him just a week before we had to put Tiger down. She was 22 and my buddy since I was 9. He was the one that got me through loosing her so needless to say he is my special guy ... and boy does he know it.

This is Milo. He is the favorite of all our guests. He is the most docile. He refuses to get out the way for nothing. If you try to shoo him ... I just lays there and you can push across the whole room.

This last one is Sasha. She is the mommy. I used to adore her, but she has gotten pretty stubborn and mean since the babies. I am trying to get her to be more lovable and give her attention ... it is just hard when all she does is growl at you. We still love her tho.

All your kitties are irresistible!!!

We went through a pregnancy & delivery with our cat Spooky. We wanted to be there for the birth too & we were, although the gross parts will only be in our memories...she had two kittens & we are keeping them both, they are over 6 weeks old now...they grow up fast

Thanks for sharing photos of all your beautiful kitties! Can't wait to see more of their cute little faces

I've witnessed the births of kittens, but never thought of photographing them

As far as name suggestions:

Teaberry for the little blue (grey) girl and
Rascal for the little brown tabby boy (cause he looks like a rascal)

Knee deep in cat litter
Great Pictures! As far as names, how about Mystik for the gray girl and Cadbury for the tabby boy. All your cats are gorgeous (don't tell the boys I said that
).

I think she will probably calm down after her kittens are weaned and adopted or whatever and she is spayed. Also, you said that daddy is still around as well, I hope he is neutered or else he can get the momma pregnant again right away. Beautiful cats by the way, and kittens too of course! I LOVE Sasha, I am a sucker for black cats.

They all have adorable faces!!
What a miracle to watch the birth of life!! I think the little gray girl should be named Midnight and the little gray fella should be called Hasbro
Don't ask me why on the name Hasbro, it just popped into my head

Awwwwwww!!!

I took very graphic photos of my Lily's babies being born.
How many times in life am I going to experience something that beautiful!?

I have about 60 pictures of it and made my husband (who was away on a business trip when she gave birth) look at each and every photo...although he found it a little more "icky" than beautiful, as I did.

Those photos are amazing! I don't think it's gross at all. I've experienced the birth of dogs, naturally and by c-section, no cats though.

The kittens are just precious and the older cats are gorgeous too!

Sasha will eventually be fixed. Money is the problem right now. I spent over $300 in tests for Charlie (the dad) for them just to tell me that he needed a steroid shot because of cystitis. I guess our move messed him up. Then about 2 weeks later, I got both Charlie and Milo fixed. then 2 weeks after that, the one kitten broke it's keg. I have spent more money on my cats then my 2 kids. LOL It is worth it ... but sheesh!

So, she will be fixed ... when I can afford it. I'm not too worried about her getting pregnant again anyways. The boys are fixed and she stays in side always.

I am so glad someone else appreciates the photos. My husband, altho he did think some of them were cool, didn't understand why I would want to photograph that. Well, duh ... I am a photographer. My boys got to witness it as well which I thought was awesome. My 3 year old was amazed, but got a little freaked out by the blood. he thought Sasha was hurt. Shasha never made any noises at all (wish my births were like that).

Anyways ... I am rambling. thanks for the compliments on the kitties/cats.

Oh, and as for the names. I am thinking Oliver & Jasper for the boy calico's ... the girl is stumping me.

We have a Charlie, Sasha, Milo, Toby (dog) & Titan (dog - did not name him). I want more human sounding names ... but not common sounding names. Thanks for the suggestions so far. A friend of mine just got a kitten and she named him Hasbro thanks to BarkleysJester. LOL

the boy calico's are actually just brown/black mackeral tabbies.

Very cute little suckers.

I have seen many litters born, none from my own cats. That'd be hard considering they are all males. And I don't agree with it anyhow. But i do foster and volunteer for a rescue.

And in May I had 2 kittens born right in my lap. That was quite the experience! Very wet and sticky one too!.

Aww, they are absolutely precious; all of them.
I loved the birth pictures, they didn't gross me out at all.
