Ack!! Not what I needed tonight. Not sure if it's just itchy from allergies or if she's got something in it or what!! She's been rubbing it and the hair around her eye is now looking weird. I've been trying to apply a warm compress, but she's having none of that! Will try flushing with saline solution after she's calmed down from the compress trauma. The good news is that she's eating fine and everything else is normal. Off to the vet we go in the morning!!

GOOD WOMAN! Let us know, won't you? And the warm compress may not be a good idea, especially if there is infection present; so it may be a good thing that she won't tolerate it. I'd leave well enough alone until she sees her doctor.

It worries me because this is the same eye that weeps when she gets allergies and has some clouding starting on it. The doctor told me that is to be expected with an older cat (she's 12-ish) and we're watching the cloudiness. Just frustrates me because she's been doing so well the past 6 months!! Grrr!! Oh well! She's been resting in the living room in "her" chair, came to visit for her nightly bit of chicken w/ meds and is very alert.

Here's a not-so-great pic of her eye from a little while ago. Click to see it full-size.
