My cat, Casper

This is my cat, Casper. He is one of the kittens of our outside cats. My mother took his calico(tortoise shell) sister, and I gave the rest away to good homes.

And these are him as a kitten:

I love the name Casper

Was it the sun or did I see faint orange stripes on his tail?!

It surely wasn't the sun
You DID see orange stripes. They actually aren't that faint.

Two of his brothers/sisters were orange cats, so I guess he has the gene.
Those stripes didn't start appearing until he was about 2-3 months old, and they are still getting darker and darker (he is only 18 weeks old.)

His ears also have an orange tint.

Otherwise, he is completely white.

What a handsome little boy!

What a stud!

He could very well continue to darken as he ages. Perhaps develop more orange on his ears/face/tail....

What a little cutie he is.

Although I am a little biased toward the white cats, your Casper is just gorgeous!! The tail really does it!! Thanks for introducing him.

Awww, Casper is such a precious little boy!! Too cute!

Ooh, he has that same pretty pattern you see on flame-point siamese... I think it looks better on him, though, because the way they breed Siamese these days they look so stretched out and skinny--I like the traditional body type way better

So, roundabout: He's beautiful!!

If color is coming in on tail, feet/legs and ears/face, then you've got a pointed kitten - either will be a red or cream point! Pointed kittens don't get the color till a few months old - especially red/cream - they come in very slow compared to a seal/blue point. They are born white

So is a "pointed cat" a type of coloring, such as calico, etc??
Do you know off the top of your head of any threads on here that discuss "pointed" cats??
Thanks!

Oh my word what a little beauty

Yup! It's a type of coloring. Any type of cat can be pointed--you can have a pointed calico for example. In your case, you have the point pattern on top of a red tabby pattern, giving the cat red tabby points.

Yes, this is an old thread, but I just wanted to update that Casper is now almost completely 'peachy'!
He has orange all over his body, and it's not in spots. It's like his whole coat.
