and they told me that I am probably going to have to have surgery. I have never even had an IV let alone surgery!! Well, I should probably give you the background, huh? I have had cervical cancer and have to go for biopsies every 3 months. The biopsies are the most painful things that I have ever had to go through. I had a prescription for Lortab and it didn't even touch the pain! On top of that, it made me violently ill. Needless to say, Thursday was a crappy day for me. If my biopsies come back bad again, the Dr told me I will be headed to the OR for a LEEP procedure. I have had 1 before and it ruined my chances to ever have children and scarred my cervix so much that it causes severe pain when I have Pap's and when I have biopsies. Just wanted to tell someone else about this and you guys always listen when I want to whine.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I've never had to have surgery either and I can imagine how scared you are. I hope everything goes well and that the surgery is successful. Sending you lots of
and good

I know exactly how you feel. I had a similar procedure Sept 10th, 2001. I will never forget it b/c of the importance on the next day.

Are you having another Leep surgery? My doctor didn't do that procedure for the exact reason you specified. I wish you luck & hope the paps after are clear.

Yeah, it looks like another LEEP for me. I've had cryo and the LEEP but this stuff will NOT GO AWAY!! I have been fighting this since I was 22 or 23 (I honestly don't remember because it was 1 of the worst bday presents that I have ever gotten--they called me to tell me I had to go to the Cancer Center on that bday without ever once warning me I had problems) and I am just tired of it...

I had the cryo just the one time. I think it took a year before my pap was clear. I haven't been back in 2 years. I really need to. What level are the cells? Mine was a 3 before the cryo. The paps after were minimal.

Mine was CIN III and severe and moderate dysplasia the first time (just pulled out my records to check). I was 23 then and 28 now so I guess it's been 5 years, almost 6. After the LEEP, I was back to CIN I for awhile. I must be back to CIN III if they are considering LEEP again, but we will see after this last appointment.

Aww hon, i am soo sorry you're going through this right now
My heart goes out to you, i can't imagine how scarry it must be. Just know that you aren't alone though hon- there are soo many out there going through the same thing that you are and sooo many that are such strong survivors, like you, that understand
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that your doctors figure out what's the best course of action to try and get you healthy again. I have you doubt you're going to be just fine!
And the iv's- they're nothing to worry over love! I've had quite a few of them in the past for different things....don't let that little needle scare ya! It's not as bad as it seems at all!

i have put in so many iv's that i am a little nervous! Lol! I am actually talking to my ex right now and this is the first I have gotten emotional about it. He was there for a lot of this and talking to him just reminds me of it. I guess it's kind of good to get this out now though, right?

I am glad you have your ex to talk to.
I turned to my ex when it first happened to me (we are married now). When do you have to go back?

This is actually the first time that the ex and I have talked in months! Don't know what got into him to want to talk to me, but it kind of helped to cry about it! Of course, we were just im'ing each other and I didn't let him know exactly what was going on, but it made me feel better nonetheless.

I din't really want to start a new thread so dug through and found my origonal. I don't have to have surgery!!! The nurse that I spoke to said that my biopsies were perfectly clear and my Pap was normal!! I have NEVER had a clear Pap so that was a bit of a shock especially after the last time when the Dr said surgery was the way to go. I am so happy!
