If one more person says I am just upset and crying over this whole doctor issue because my hormones are out of whack are gonna have their butt handed to them.

Here is the break down I went a little apey on this one doctor I saw in August over trying to get help. All I asked them was to please please please set up a payment plan so I can get into the doctor and find out why the bleeding won't stay stopped. Somehow to them this translated into I don't wanna pay ever, it better be free and the better see me now for free. Huh thats no where near what I said. All I wanted was a payment plan pay some at the visit and then make payments. At this point I went apey. Did not cuss them but it was not a pretty conversation. They transferred me to the office manager.

It did not get better talking to her. She also told me well we cannot see you for free. I once again told her I never asked to be seen for free. And then the topper she said I was just crying and upset because my hormones are out of whack. Ummm no I am crying an upset because I am bleeding from my female regions with no reason and I feel like no one is helping me. She says I understand thats why I am talking to you. Heach against and I said some more things to her that I can't repeat (still no cussing). Then she says I know you are scared you may have to have surgery. No I am not scared of surgery right now this is what I want to make all this stop. So bring the surgery on.

Needless to say this went on for 20 mins. and I'll spare you all the details. End results they are pulling my records from the ER visit I made back in August. They are also getting my records from the doctor I first saw in Savannah. If they can prove I need urgent surgery I may get some help through the state. Apparently something she knows about but I don't. So I will call back Monday or Tuesday and see what happens from there.

I am treading muddy grounds and have no idea what steps I need to take at this point. I am still bleeding. Suffering from headaches for 2 weeks at least. I have no idea why at this point. I thought it was because my hair was getting long. but apparently thats not it. I had my hair cut and I am still getting headaches everyday.

Oh onemore thing. Even if a doctor does not tell you your phone calls my be recorded. Found that out today. She said those recordings can prove whether or not you need urgent surgery or something like that.

Wow, I'm so sorry you're having all this trouble. I sometimes think that doctors hear what they want to hear. I really hope you can get some help with your ailments.

I know what those situations are like! I've been down that road a few times. Things will work out. Just keep thinking positive.

You live in Savannah? I grew up there.

How incredibly insensitive for a person just to say it's your hormones making you upset.
This is your health and possibly your life at stake, you have every right to be upset over this.

As for the headaches and bleeding for so long, I wouldn't be surprised if you're anemic by now from it.
Have you had any problems with lightheadedness/dizziness?

Thinking back....no I have not really had an issue with that. Earlier when I was on the phone with those people I did get somewhat lightheated but I think that had more to do with my blood pressure. I was very very upset on the phone.

If I am still bleeding in the morning (good chance the answer will be yes) I will probably make a trip to the hospital. If for nothing else to have my iron levels checked. But I dread having to go up there.

I'd be very surprised if you aren't anemic, and also probably dehydrated, because losing blood also means losing fluid -- and dehydration will cause headaches, too.

A friend of my mother's is going through something similar now, and even though she does have insurance, she's being treated much the same way you are: what are you making such a fuss about, you're just hormonal, relax and it'll probably go away. AUGH!

I'm really, really sorry it's so hard to even get taken seriously... let alone to get helped. Hoping something good happens for you soon.

Oh my. You remind me of just how much I hate doctors. [Sweeping Generalization to Follow:] For people who are supposed to help you, they sure seem to take a twisted pleasure in being as unhelpful as possible. I'm so sorry that you're going through this. And even IF it is "just your hormones" that doesn't make what you're going through any less valid. I hope things work out soon.

There's no place like home
Long story omitted here, but I had a problem once where I bled for 6 weeks and got very anemic from just that short of time. Get yourself some iron supplements and drink a lot of water until you can get all of this sorted through with your doctor.

And if they tell you again that your hormones are out of whack, tell them that's why you are ill and need their help. It might shut them up.

Hang in there girl!

Wow I can't believe thier being so insensitive about all of this. I think anyone would be scared and upset, regardless of whether thier horomone's were being effected or not.
Hopefully they'll get this all sorted out and will be able to help you out soon. I wish you the best of Luck.

I'm glad to hear they at least are going to see you... but they shouldn't wait until they get your records!!!

I'm in the healthcare profession (at least have been in the past as a pharmacy student and am about to enter it again as a nurse) and it really angers me to hear stories like this. I hope I never get that jaded. I've been treated like that before too, and it really is beyond frustrating when they have so much power over you.

For example, I had a miscarriage during college and no health insurance. I was forced to let it happen naturally. I became anemic. I had the actual final stage of the miscarriage right before a final exam and with the proof in hand, I went to a prof (who was an OB/GYN, now an ER doc), crying, who promptly told me I'll be fine and to just go ahead and take the exam. I was in such shock that I did it. By this point, I was just used to unsympathetic professors. If I wanted to be taken seriously, I had to do what they said. If I had proof of this, you bet there would be a lawsuit.
