And I am soooooo sad! I tried to find homes for them but had to take them to the shelter. They DO try to adopt them out tho.

They waived the fee of $15 per cat since I could not afford it. I think it helped that I broke down on the phone while talking to them. They gave me some cardboard carriers. Princess chewed though it in nothing flat so I put her in the one carrier I had. On the way, Scamper escaped the same way but just sat there. Buddy also escaped but only his head was sticking out.

I know I am doing the best thing for them since I could not take them with me. But it is soooooo hard!

Please pray that they find new homes quickly.

We had to move from a 3 br house to a 1 br apartment due to dire financial issues. We could not afford to keep even one of them. It is an additional $400 deposit per cat and we already had to pay a $800 deposit because of our credit.

I missed them already!

Awwww, I am soooo sorry you couldn't take them w/ you.
I know how you feel: when I moved to Texas about five years ago, I couldn't take all my babies w/ me, either. It was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever had to do.

Why couldn't you take them?

I apologize!
I missed reading this the first time....

Your dilemma is similar to what mine was. I was moving out-of-state from a 2-bedroom house into a small 2-bedroom apartment, which didn't allow pets - and I had 7 cats at the time. As it was, I did manage to bring 2 of them w/ me, and snuck them into the apartment. It was difficult enough as it was to leave the other 5 behind (2 of which did get adopted, but the other 3, I later found out, were PTS.
.), but there was noooo way I could part w/ Maverick & Gabriel.
I was always living on pins & needles, for fear of getting "caught." I eventually moved out of the apartment into a small, not-too-nice cabin, just so I could keep my babies: the neighbors were getting too nosey, and I didn't want to lose them, too.

I really feel for you!
I know how you're feeling.
I wish I could say something to help ease your pain.

I'm so so sorry you couldn't take those gorgeous babies with you. Sometimes things do happen that are unavoidable. Does the shelter post on petfinder? I was wondering if we could keep an eye on them through that so we would know when they find a home.

I do know that they vaccinate them on arrival and once they are given a clean bill of health from the vet there, they are put up for adoption. Stinker and Princess put up a fight, so I was told. I explained that they were just scared and once they calm down, they are lovable, not mean.

I will check out if they have a pet adoption site and post that here.

Oh I hope I hope they get adopted!!!!!

(link doesn't always work but I am going to keep checking. Hopefully Princess and Stinker will calm down enough to be put on the list.

It could be that someone already has their eye on Princess and Stinker. They have a Snowshoe look that I would think would be very popular. Believe me, if you lived around here, Stinker would already be in my house.

Tons of "get adopted quickly" vibes for your babies, and "things working out better in the future" vibes for you!

Now I am concerned....

I checked the adoption website and the 4 that were on there are no longer there!!! I can see 1 or 2 being adopted already, but all 4 of them??

They were there last night, but gone today. I hope they got adopted already and that Stinker and Princess get listed.

But on the bright side, we move the furniture yesterday.. A friend from work and a friend of hers with a van helped us. We didn't even have to rent a truck like I thought we would!
