Do you ever have the urge to do something, then realize that it is a very bad idea.... and then do it anyways?

This afternoon I have been having anxiety (near-panic) attacks. As happens a lot these days.

I do the same thing. I was feeling a little down yesterday (I suffer from mild depression), so what did I do? I watched 9-11 shows all day. It didn't help my mood at all.

yes, I have done this, although it usually presents itself as a pint of ice cream or that ready to eat cheesecake filling I know I shouldn't have bought.

I have to practice the mental equivalent of stop, drop and roll...stop. think about what I want to do, why I want to do it, and what the consequences are if I do it. If it works I drop the ice cream and roll away
