Lucy is eating like a pig and had normal poop! Her regular vet called me at work today completely flabbergasted at my luck with kitty health. She had already planned to call me to check on the Siamese girl's URI and arrived at work this morning to find the e-vet's faxed report about Lucy's surgery.

Both kitties are recovering from their respective ailments, so I'm happy. My poor vet thinks I'm cursed. In the two weeks she's known me, I've had Lucy's leaking, gaping spay incision/suture reaction (with that e-vet visit), tapeworms, brought home a sickly URI kitty, and now Lucy's latest ordeal. I can't decide if she thinks I'm a hypochondriac, suffering from Munchausen's by proxy, or just very unlucky.

The Siamese girl doesn't have to take the Zithromax any longer, so she's happy. It's much easier to get out the door in the morning without having to medicate half the household (until today, Dave and the ferret were the only two not on any meds - I have/had a kidney infection).

Thanks again, TCS folks!

This is great news.
on the good poop! Only cat people can understand just what that means.

Time to keep things on the upswing for all!

When my cats get sick, they seem to get the most unlikely disease and disorders or problems that aren't cured by normal means. My vet is always slightly amazed until I remind her, "But it's one of my cats!" meaning of course it's not straightforward. I try to look at it from a positive view point--the cats "chose" me knowing I'd find a way to help them (particularly in Spot's case) and because I'm attentive, I notice things that some other pet owners might not. It's not being a hypochondriac if you're noticing real problems.
