Ryu really is a little dragon.

I was playing with Ryu, since most attention has been given to Diego since his op. Well while he was playing and biting he opened his mouth and to my surprise, he has 2 sets of lower canines. Now I can't say I have ever seen that before, so checked Neko and Diego's teeth and it is just Ryu.
So I took some pics to post here, but they make him look not comfortable. Anyhows I lloked in his mouth one more time admiring those awesome teeth, low and behold, he has 2 sets of upper canines too.
I say to myself, "when he's older play with him, but if he attempts to bite, stop right there, coz those teeth will do a lot of damage"

So hey go figure, I gave my little dragon the most appropriate name possible with the help of my voters of course.

That is so crazy!! Great name choice, though.

Here's the best pic he could take, he was more interested in playing with the camera string than having his mouth opened.

Look at them though, that is intense. I need to get another one to show the top canines. I think maybe they are his adult teeth, growing beside his babies.?

Please not, Ryu was not harmed in the taking of this picture, he is happily purring on my lap right now, whilst extending and retracting is little razor claws.

Wow! That is so weird! I love it! Oh, and we know you would never hurt your kitties for a picture or anything else! I love Ryu! He is adorable!

I just noticed I spelled Dragon wrong in my title.
Why doesn't the spell check thing work in the title bar

It's ok, we all understand what you meant. And I don't understand why it doesn't either. Thats weird.

My little Angel murrs like a 'dragon' as so my husband tells me. She doesn't even open her mouth to murr and you can hear her from across the apartment.

Can't get a pic of his top teeth, coz it involves opening his mouth a little wider and raising his lips, which he doesn't like, and the second set of top ones, are tiny, but believe me when I say they are there.

Spellcheckers are evil! Never trust them!

The way I see it, I'd rather make my own mistakes than let the software do it for me.

All the excitement and posting about my little dragon boy was about 2hrs premature. I was just patting him whilst sitting with my wife, and she said "Whats that?" I was like "Huh?" "Is that blood?" "Where?" "On his paw".
So I looked at his paw and there was a tiny smidgen of blood, so I investigated his body, and found no injury, so looked inside his mouth. Sure enough, one set of, those awesome lower canines are gone.

WHAT!!??? They were just his baby teeth? Aaawwww I liked him better as my real dragon with too many teeth.

At least you got a picture of his teeth like that before he lost them.

It's great that the teeth are coming out on their own though, were they to stay in they could cause some problems...or you'd end up with yet another vet visit soon.

Yeah, they were just his baby teeth!

Portia had the same thing when her adult teeth were coming through

Aww, he's teething!! too bad he's not a dragon that would have been pretty interesting.

I guess you'd better start checking all the power cords in your house, from what I understand teething kitties prefer them to any teething toy, and I can't see that promoting domestic harmony

Yes, baby teeth. When Bijou was teething I just had lots of the big fat plastic straws around for him to chew on. He loved them.

Usually when cats lose their baby teeth, they just end up swallowing them and we humans don't get to see them. We were lucky in that we found one of Bijou's and later when we got Mika we found one of hers so our daughter put them in the scrapbooks she made for the kitties.

Aww, he's teething. That's so cute that you got to take pics before the tooth fell out.

At first I though he lost them in the cage, coz I decided to let Diego have some alone time in his own room, and Ryu was having control of the rest of the house, but I needed to open a door. I put him in his cage until I had been outside, and it was about 10mins after that we noticed his babies gone. Guess they aren't like ours where the babies have to fall out first.
When I tried opening is mouth, to see, I think he was in the middle of swallowing them. Have to try keep his top ones.
