As I am sure you know, our US Military is being shipped overseas in large numbers. They deployed 7,000 Marines from Camp Lejuene this weekend. The USO is asking for donations of paperback books, toiletries, non perishable candy, and anything that will make our troops more comfortable while defending our country. If you have a USO in your town, and can make even a small donation, please do. The animal shelters are filling up at an alarming rate in areas where our troops are being deployed at a moment's notice, and have had no time to make arrangements for their pets. The rescue groups are asking for foster homes or permanent homes for some of these animals. If anyone can help, anywhere, please contact your local shelter for details, or even check your local papers. This would be a good way to adopt or foster a new friend, and do a good deed for someone defending our freedom. Of course, good thoughts and prayers are always needed. Thanks!!

The people from CAPS (Carolina Animal Protection Society) had another call out for foster homes today. They are trying to place 500 pets! I wish I had room to foster at least 1. I currently have 3 cats in a 3 room cottage, and just cannot do it. My boss's wife is considering it. Please help in your area if you can.
