Hello All,
I need your advice on my female kitty (approx. 10 years old). She has recently begun wetting my bed ONLY when I am out of town.
I have had her close to 10 years and she never did this until the last few months. When I am gone she is watched by my roomie who is also a cat lover that my kitty gets along very well with. My cat sometimes elects to sleep with my roomate even when I am home, but mostly she sleeps with me. The last time she did this I was gone about a week. This time I was out of town only one night for a wedding and came back to a fresh wet spot on the bed. I really dont see why shes upset because she has someone to sleep with and pay attention to her when I'm gone. She is healthy and can make the box every time.

Anyone have any ideas why she would so this? Thanks!

Are you absolutely sure that she is healthy? Cats are notorious for hiding their illnesses and they typically show up with odd behavior changes. One common symptom to keep a very close eye for is inappropriate peeing. If nothing else has changed about your routine or your environment, then I would guess there is something wrong with her.

At 10 years old she is considered geriatric and this is a perfect age to have a baseline geriatric profile done on her. They will do a complete blood work and urine test. If something is wrong, it will show up.

If you absolutely rule out physical problems, then you treat the behavior issues. Have you found the thread in Behavior on inappropriate urination?
