Well, we are managing to get the meds down him but he doesnt want to eat.... Please send "eat jasper eat" vibes his way as he is very thin now
and he must begin to eat soon if he is to recover. I have only managed to get about 1/4 of a can of food into him, he just doesnt want to eat and bairly to drink either. And thank you for the "take your meds" vibes/prayers too. He doesnt want his meds but hes not all out fighing, I am hopeing its the prayers and vibes and not that hes too weak...thanks so much for your good wishes, love Carol

some ideas to try: meat baby food [chicken, turkey, etc] read the label to make sure there are no onions, garlic, etc. but there usually isn't.Originally Posted by carolcat

add some powdered brewer's yeast to his wet food.
add some shredded cheese to his wet food.
buy him some 'people' fried chicken... assuming he likes chicken. this is Pixel's absolute favorite treat.
'people' tuna or salmon - this was what i used to get Java eating again. she loved the pouch-packed salmon in oil!
Carol, our hearts and prayers are with you. Yes, please try anything to get him to eat. Whatever bribery it takes. Please, please keep us informed as we are all worried about our special Jasper.

Dear friends I am trying everything I can think of to get him to eat. The vet sent home some pills for his appetite but I havnt managed to get one down him, he fights so hard and my husband is not good at helping.....he has eaten a very little bit of canned food which I put the one med on that his vet gave as a supplimental food, I have tried shaved turkey which he normally loves with very limited sucess, he is still drinking but thats because basically I have been carrying him to the water fountain and telling him to drink...we have had limited sucess with his liquid antibiotic, we get part of it down but not all, and trying to hold him down and force him makes him hide under the bed and still we cant get it all down. We are trying our best...he seems tobe a little more comfortable but he just lays in his bed and sleeps most all the time. Please continue to pray for him....and Bobbie I am home, I got to the phone 2 seconds after you hung up, very sorry to have missed your call, love Carol
When Tigger wouldn't eat, I tried to just put a bowl of baby food in front of her, but she wouldn't eat it, but she WOULD lick it off my finger...
Me an Go Go so worried we can't hardly think! We just come heer to talk to all youz and now we find out Jasper is sick. Please our wunnerful bad boy, please eat and get well! We loves you!

When Humble would not eat, I got Beech Nut Stage 1 turkey and broth and had to feed a tiny bit at the time on my finger. I poked it down. It was a struggle.
After a few times, he got to where he wanted to eat.
We all love Jasper and are very concerned.
HAPPY DAYZ JASPER IS EATING AGAIN
This morning he woke me and asked for his breakfast and when I gave it to him he ate it. He also did his best to tear Phil and I up this morning when we gave him his meds so he is getting back to normal. Thank you all SO much for your prayers and good wishes. I believe it was prayers that saved him because I think he gave up there for a bit. Thank you again, and love, kisses and purrs to you all, Carol, tt, snow snow and FIERCE jasper
