Hi All,
I've been asked to lead some craft projects at the local nursing home. I'm thrilled to be able to do that, but I'm at a loss with ideas of what exactly to do...
I've been told to look at kindergarten level crafts because some of the residents have lack of mobility/control, and many of them have severe dementia. There are 14 residents in the nursing home, all female, but there may be some males that move in.
I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of easy crafts I could do with them or any websites I could look at!

Many thanks,
Jenn

You could do anything from painting ceramic figures to fingerpainting.
Making felt cutouts and gluing magnet strips to the back for the fridge. You can make it really easy by pre-cutting shapes to be glued together, add feathers, glitter, beads, sequins, bits of yarn, photos from a magizine ect...
Make holiday/birthday cards, the same things can be used as for the magnets.
I hope this helps some!

You could also make GIANT inflatable badgers to which you could attach fake rabbit ears. Now I'd buy one of them!

But being serious if I may, how about the ideas mentioned in the recycling CDs thread? Some great ideas there, how they would beat inflatable badgers though is beyond me.

lol. I'm sure very few things outrank inflatable badgers! And with fake rabbit ears!!! I'm sure people would pay thousands!

Thanks for the thread suggestion, I'll go look at it.

I work at a retirememnt home, and I know that doorknob hangers with the residents name on it for thme to hang on their doorknob is a great help for the dementia residents who can't find their room and also for the new staff who don't where which room belongs to whom. You know, those "Do Not Disturb" hangers? Those are fun, and can be so creative.

Thank you very much! That is a great idea and I most likely would never have thought of it. I'm sure they'll really enjoy that.
