The surgery should be starting soon. She was very happy to see us (she even cried a few times when we first got there) and purred up a storm, but was still very pathetic. She does not feel good.

The vomiting and diarrhea continued, and the gas has started building up again (based on the previous x-rays, a bunch of it had passed through, but there's more). The surgeon (who will not be performing the surgery - there's a $1k surcharge for using the surgeon on weekends; I'm confident the attending ER/critical care vet can handle this) agreed they should just go ahead and open her up.

I took a picture of her for my mom, but figured I'd share it with you guys, too.

So, I'm waiting on pins and needles for good news from the vet any minute now.

Thanks for all the support. This has been a very trying weekend, but I'm glad we were able to do what we had to for the little girl.

And nothing. They found nothing. There is still no explanation.

I am not capable of even discussing this in an intelligent manner right now, so if anyone has had a cat undergo surgery for an "obstruction" that wasn't there, can you tell me what the end result was? The vet mentioned possible IBD or lymphoma, but said they're both pretty unusual for such a young cat.

Oh poor Lucy. I know that there have been cats who had had terrible problems with IBD. You might want to change the title of your thread or start a new to get their attention.

How frustrating for you. Sending vibes and prayers that they get to the root of the problem and can get your little one fixed up and all healthy again.
