Hi, i recently figured out that my cat needed her litter box cleaned daily and for it to be in the bathroom so she wouldn't pee in my bed room. But now my carpet has pee everywhere! It smells very bad! I'm curious if there are any good ways to remove the smell with things that i have at my house. Also my carpet is a sandy brown color and wherever she went is a white color so it is noticeable. Anyone know how to remove that too?

if you remove the urine from your carpet, make sure you get an emzyme killer type of carpet killer. This will kill any residual urine enzymes that may be present. Not just cover the smell up. I have used Oxyclean with success. Also you could try putting food dishes there too, as a cat will not urinate in the area of their food. Hope it helps.

If its a lot of spots, then I might contact a professional cleaner and tell them that you need something safe to clean the carpet of cat pee.

If its a few spots, then Nature's Miracle should work - use it a few times and saturate the spot. As far as color - well the acid in the urine caused the color change and nothing will bring that back - sorry.

The most common mistake people make using the enzyme urine cleaners is they don't use enough. The urine spots need to be literally soaked, and soaked clear through. The other common mistake is not letting it work for long enough. If you don't let it work (and keep it wet) at least overnight, it probably won't get all the urine out.

I agree. The pee has permeated not only the carpet, but the pad underneath and probably the wood floor boards under that. You really have to soak it. I've never found a professional carpet cleaner that can get out the smell. If the color washed out of it, I doubt that you can restore it without dying it.

Some products that are pretty good: Urine Gone, Nature's Miracle, Nok Out.
