I never had a problem with Ping doing this but Pong does it all the time it seems. Every time I put food in bowl Pong must dump 1/2 of it on the floor. Why why why does she do this and is there a way I can teach her not to do this.
Barkley does this exact same thing, with the food in his bowl as well as Petunia's. What I have noticed is that if I put only a little bit of food in his bowl he wont do this but if I fill it up some because Im leaving the house for awhile he will stick his paw in the bowl and scoop out atleast half of the contents, it infuriates me sometimes because I know he wont eat it once he does this but rather kick it around the floor and turn it into a toy, leaving me to clean up the mess. Im not sure if this is a habit that can be broken but if so I sure would like to know the secret. Good luck with Pong!Originally Posted by Ping

I don't think its competition because he will be in there by herself and do this. And she does it just like B&J says sticks a paw in and scoops food out then eats.Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45
Another suggestion - since it seems like "competition" - try feeding one cat in one room and the other in another room and don't let them bother each other - might solve the problem.
