I am back and have pictures of beanies babies!! Here are some pictures of benies babies ( the ones that I think are part bobcat) at 2 weeks old playing with each other. The biggest one weighs 12 ounces and the others are around 11.5-10 ounces

The images are litattle blurry because of the low light and my lenses apature. But I think they still show the kittens pretty good.

thanks

They're gorgeous! They look like normal kittens to me, if they really are part bobcat you'll find out very quickly when they start behaving like complete maniacs compared to your average cat. I.e all the early crosses with wild cats have pretty much limitless energy, much more than normal cats which can easily lead to them becoming destructive to furniture and other things when they then get bored because no one can keep up with them. They often don't use litterboxes properly and a lot of them can't eat normal cat food either. Need to be fed a special raw diet etc.

So basically if you start havining those sort of problems with the kittens they're probably part bobcat. That's not saying that early gen outcrosses can't make good pets. I know of several very happy people with F1 Bengals for example but they're definately not your average pet and you need to be prepared to go out of your way to care for a cat like that. They're way too much work for most people.

How many kittens are there? At 3 weeks, our kittens were between 5 and 9 ounces, but there were 8 of them...

Their size is really awesome. I have a 6 week old orphan that is only 13 ounces. At 2 weeks, 12 ounces is a big kitty.

Super cute too!

I'll check with my genetics predictor, but I THINK the maybe the daddy is a regular cat since you have kittys with tails. But I'm not sure. GoldenKitty will know more.

Hmmm. Looks like I'm wrong. Manx (tailless) gene is dominant. So that won't help at all as a predictor...

I looked at them - another post I answered that based on the above pictures I think they are just domestic mixed breeds - no bobcat in them. Cats can be born with partial tails and not be bobcats.

Sorry to hear that are probably not part bobcat. But, I know that cats be born short tails and not be bobcats, the mother of the kittens was a manx (which is probably why the one had a bobtail). But any ideas as to why they are so big??
