I don't know what to make of it. It does seem strange that no one saw anything when Madeleine disappeared, and that one child was taken but the other two were undisturbed. Of course, it just seems strange to me to leave 3 children under 5 alone in a hotel room while you go eat dinner, too.
It wouldn't be the first time that a parent claimed abduction when they had some part in the child's death, IF this is the case. It's not unheard of.
But it's also so difficult to think of any parents harming their own children.
i haven't followed this case, i try not to watch any news except the weather, so i am just now hearing that, if i understand it correctly- a four year old girl and two infant (twins?) were left ALONE in a room in a hotel while the parents went to a nearby restaurant?
they left their kids ALONE???
thats criminal neglect, at least i believe most ppl think so.
who in their right mind would leave three babies alone? its illegal in my state to leave a 10 yr old alone without a sitter!!!
was the restaurant INSIDE the hotel? and even if i was, thats just incredible to me.
how often did these parents do this??
the rest of the story is bad enough, but i got stopped in my tracks just at the very beginning
i cant understand why they would have gotten any sympathy at all, and why they are not distraught over leaving their kids alone and in danger-
assuming they have nothing to do with what happened.
am i way off base here? has this aspect of the case already been debated and put to rest,
perhaps because ppl think that would add too much to the distress of the parents while their child goes missing?
it also seems odd to me that they travelled....AFAIK when a child goes missing, at least one parent wants to stay in the place from where the child was taken/lost
hoping that she is nearby and will be found.
i know if my daughter disappeared in a strange place, i would stay there until she was found...and use that as home base so to speak,
i think i would be way too upset to even consider travelling, or speaking to anyone, i'd want someone else to handle that, the grief and fear would be too great
i know everyone handles things differently but OMG who the hell leaves kids that young alone?
did they at least have a baby monitor?
please if i've missed this part of the story, fill me in, because it just blows my mind!!
i heard a tiny bit on tv where they said that "because" these parents are wealthy professionals, its "unthinkable" that they could have anything to do with their daughter's disappearance
