About 1 month from now I'm taking a short flight to see my girlfriend

Her family is moving to a different house right now, but they're staying at Dallas. I know it's not a long time now but I really can't wait to see her... yet we both have to wait for October coz' of personal reasons

Anyways, I remember being in Dallas is so different than here, everything is so quiet at evening, streets are dead, except maybe with the downtown but who goes there lol...

I dunno why but I really miss the whole place, maybe I love TX because my gf is living there but maybe there's a different reason for that feeling....

So I just wanted to share this one with you, and yep,,, I'm trying to convince her to come to this forum, it's not easy haha

Yep

I think I know what you mean: I've always had a "thing" about Texas (I have no idea why), but never in my wildest dreams did I actually believe I'd be living here!!
I'm from Wisconsin (and no, I DON'T miss the snow & cold like everyone thinks I should!), and I still get really homesick sometimes, but I can't imagine moving back there - although sometimes I DO get the urge to (mainly b/c I miss my son & granddaughter so much
.) I will always love Wisconsin b/c it's my home, and it is a beautiful state, but there's just something about Texas that appeals to me..

I hope you have a good time here when you visit! If you get the chance, try to visit Galveston. I LOVE that place!!

Galveston is on the Gulf of Mexico, about an hour's drive southeast of Houston. It's a long ways from Dallas, but it's worth the trip if you love the water, and if you get a chance to drive there!!

Try to save enough money to buy some cool souvenirs!!

Yay for Texas. I live in Houston and I love it. It's a great state with great people. I hope you enjoy your time in Dallas with your girlfriend.
