My 6 month old kitten (boy) has diarhea too. When I first adopted him a little over a month ago, I was treating him with med's for URI. The antibiotics stopped about 2 weeks ago. When I first got him, I put him on a better diet than he had at the shelter. I feed him Purina ONE kitten forumal for growth and development. All this time his poop has been solid and now for the past few days I have noticed diarhea in the litter box. I'm concerned. He has all of his shots. Any advice?

Thanks.

Should I maybe try switching foods? Does anyone feed their kittens PurinaONE kitten formula?

Thanks.

While I don't think Purina is a good food nor is it worth what you pay, in this case I don't think it's the food.

He may be getting his system back in order after antibiotics. I am very hesitant to use them as they really throw the whole system out of whack. I would give him some probiotics, yogurt, or acidophilos (milk or pills), lactobillus pills, depending on what you can get your hands on and what he will eat.

On the other hand, it could be a recurrence of the illness, manifesting another way? Or another illness? What has your vet said?

Sharper, how is your kitty? Any time you change foods you need to do it gradually over a period of days instead of all at once (if that is indeed how you did it) You can try giving your kitty a mixture of boiled chicken and cooked rice and add a little bit of fiber to this. Canned pumpkin is good and most cats love that. You want to make sure your kitty is drinking lots of water, they dehydrate quickly and I would send a fecal up to your vet and have him test it. Good luck
