I have a female Himalayan Cross. She is tortoise colour and has the perfect face with eyes that don't leak and a beautiful nose. She has a lion-like collar and the persian coat that for some reason or other doesn't mat. she has thick short legs. It appears to me she has the best of her Himalayan background and the best of the cross breed that I believe to be a tabby. Her name is Margarat-Anne. She was a rescue kitten from a kitten mill. She has been with us for 14 months. We just adore her and would like to know more about her historical roots.
Was there an original Himalayan cat that lived free range in the Himalayan Mountains? I know that persian and Siamese are crossed to create this breed in modern day but what about the original breed, does anyone know?
Thanks, Elizabeth
