Okay... being pregnant I have that strange hyper sense of smell anyway...

The cat box REEKS!!! Our little home is really humid right now and it is making it all that much worse to me!!! I have air freshener and candles going... I have a window cracked and I've tried to try the place out a little. But I can't seem to stop smelling the box. Hubby changed it recently and scoops daily (that whole don't scoop while pregnant thing...) but he isn't home all the time either. I have a mask and I could scoop the pee clumps but then the clumps go into the garbage until the next trash run. All this rain is making things very moist. It is GROSS.

Anyone have any reccomendations to help clear the air here?? I have the arm and hammer litter additive and even that doesn't help all too much. I'm ready to board myself into the computer room and live in here until things dry out....

Natures miracle sprayed in the box and throughout the air might do it. How about going to wal mart and buying a dehumidifier?

I keep my litter boxes in the basement and when its humid outside they "smell more"!!
So I run a dehumidifer and it really helps.

I understand! It's the same thing here. The litter always smells much worse when it's damp (which is 3/4 of the year here, it seems). I find myself changing all the litter out much more often than it really needs to be done and I don't know that it helps that much.

Can you get one of those natural citrus air freshener sprays? They are made of real citrus peels and no chemicals and they really help.

Have you seen that Simpsons where they get that computerized house with the voice of Pierce Brosnan? The house automatically resleases an air freshener and Marge says, "Wow! That really covers the cat crap!" Maybe we need one of those?

We're going to the 'big' PX this weekend so I'll see what they have there.

(And I'll take the house just for the voice!)

I know this sounds crazy but try sniffing coffee grounds. Sometimes smells get "Stuck" in our sinuses and this is a sure way to clear it out

Simmering potpourri in a scent like apple spice or cinnamon orange works quite well. You might also try simmering lemon or lime peel, or cloves, and nutmeg which is a nice fragrance.

I use febreze air scent spray also I find the citrus works the bests but being pregnant I don't know whether your interested in a chemical solution

Yeah... nothing like the smell of rotting garbage that sits in the sun. ICK!!!

We actually moved the box into the laundry room and hubby got some non clumping litter and that actually seems to keep the smell down better. If we missed any little pee clumps the odor would linger and it was over powering to me. We have to do a complete change more frequently but there is hardly any smell now!! YAY!
