We have some friends of my roommate staying with us for a few weeks during a move, and they brought their 3 month old blind kitten with them. She's a sweet beautiful little kitten named Pico (if I've got the spelling right). They don't have the money to take her to the vet yet, but they want to find out if her blindness is permanent. We think it may not be, because it looks like all that's wrong is that she's still got a film over her eyes from birth (They said that she never opened her eyes all the way) - she actually can see some things, as long as they're very close. Does anyone know if it's possible to just have that film cut away (or maybe just some info on blindness in cats)? It would take surgery, of course, and if it's possible, I've decided I'm going to start a collection fund to gather money for the surgery.

If there's a film over her eyes, it's possible catarcts....and possible eye removal. Depends. My Damita is blind. So, if you've got specific questions, you can PM me.
