Awhile back Sarah asked if I would be her baby watch contact for TCS and I eagerly accepted. I had looked forward to announcing the birth of a healthy baby boy.
It is with heavy heart and many tears that I have to report that they lost their baby
I received a message from her husband Andrew today saying that they went to the hospital yesterday in the wee hours of the morning because Sarah was worried that she hadn't felt the baby move since 8am the morning before.
The doctors confirmed that there was no heart beat and delivered Joshua by C-Section. When they did they found that the cord had been wrapped tightly around his neck twice and once around his body. Otherwise he appeared to be a perfectly normal baby weighing in at 4 pounds 12 ounces. So it appears that it was a cord accident.
Physically Sarah is doing as well as can be expected. Her aorta was fine and the doctors have her recovering in the CSU for the time being. She may be transferred to the post partum unit of another hospital once she is more stable.
