Since Taz has been here Puff has been doing this cat call. Sounds like he's a female in heat. (Both cats neutered). Taz comes running to him and he stops. So is he just taking over a roll of big papa? I guess even though I'm not a novice cat owner (I've had quite a few over the 28 yrs of my life) some of their behavior still puzzles me. Especially when two is together. I normally just have one.

Interpreting Cat Calls

That's an interesting question. I've noticed my cats do that from time to time. They'll yowl in one room and the minute I walk in they knock it off. I've never figured out what but it seems to me they want something.
My oldest, Rocky, does that when he wants to play. My other two cats will run to see what's up with him, which is just what he wants.
