Off to see the doctor tomorrow morning! I am going to have bloodwork done for Hypothyroidism, which if confirmed would explain alot of the health issues I have been having! Wish me luck for a simple diagnosis!

Yuck! blood test. Have them take it from the arm you don't use, ie left if you're right handed. Might help keep you from bruising.

Good luck, and keep pushing for them to find out what's wrong even if nothing comes up on your tests.

Good luck. I think I need checked for thyroid problems because I've gained a lot of weight in a short period and I can't stop eating. I think that's a sign of thyroid problems

Well along with gaining weight I have been excessivley exhausted, and my hair is falling out at a more than normal rate. I also have joint pain and acheyness... I am going to have them look for Hypothyroidism, and if not that my good friend suggested Lupus, which would be my next guess. . . Either way I dont care, I just have to find out what is enabling me to sleep for far too many hours and wake up just as tired as I was when I laid down!

You might also ask your doctor to test you for the Hepatitis C Virus. Over 4 million Americans have this virus and do not even know it until it starts to present symptoms - usually in the form of hypothyroidism. Even if you have ~never~ been in a high-risk category, get tested. The peace of mind alone is worth the extra blood it takes. Personally, I think the HCV antibody test should be mandatory any time hypothyroid symptoms are present.
