I saw this article in the paper today and found it interesting. The ASPCA has come up with a temperament test for cats and dogs. They then have a questionnaire for the potential owners which then helps match the people to a pet more appropriate to their live style. It looks like they are getting some results.
And there are fewer cats being returned.In 2005, before the Boulder shelter began using the program for cats, the average cat stayed in the shelter for 18.2 days before being adopted. Last year, the average stay was down to 12.8 days, and it's now averaging just 9.8 days.
